Can a corporate gadget look so appetizing that it's hard to resist the temptation to... eat it? At DECARD, we prove that yes! In this post, we provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of a unique 3D keychain for Mount Blanc (an iconic chain of chocolate pump rooms). It's a project that combined technical challenges with a creative approach to form, and the result surprised not only the client, but also everyone who had a chance to see the finished product.
For whom?
We prepared the keychains for Mount Blanc, a brand that has been pampering Polish lovers of Belgian chocolate for two decades. Mount Blanc Chocolate Pump Rooms are a true paradise for the senses: there you can enjoy drinking chocolate in white, milk or dessert versions, served hot or cold, with whipped cream and additions like rum, marzipan or ice cream.
The menu is complemented by ice cream desserts, pancakes, fondue and seasonal compositions that surprise in taste and appearance, such as granola with fruit or chocolate with matcha and minidonuts. And that's just the beginning.
At the heart of each pump room awaits the real attraction - more than 100 types of Belgian pralines. Each of them is a small masterpiece: fanciful forms, surprising flavors and fillings, from classic caramel to marzipan to sophisticated spirits and creme brûlée.
Mount Blanc, however, is not only a feast for the palate. The brand also offers a wide range of elegant gift sets - perfect for any occasion, including corporate gifts. Of particular note is the innovative CHOCO PRINT solution, which allows you to personalize the boxes of chocolates with a print of your company's logo, creating a sweet gift that perfectly matches the brand's visual identity.
The goal of the project: not only aesthetics, but also emotions
The purpose of creating the keychains was to prepare an original gift for Mount Blanc customers - one that attracts attention, awakens appetite and at the same time is associated with the brand. The keychains were to function as a shopping accessory and a form of appreciation for loyal customers - something more than a simple gadget. From the beginning, the client focused on quality, detail and a very faithful reproduction of a product inspired by a real dessert.
Why did Mount Blanc choose DECARD?
The client came to us thanks to a previous 3D keychain project we had done for another brand in the candy industry. They appreciated the quality of workmanship, the unique approach to design and our flexibility in tailoring solutions to the client's needs.
Challenge: from dessert to thumbnail
How do you convey taste, smell and texture - just by sight and touch? This question accompanied us from the first stages of work on the project. The client had clear requirements - the pendant was to look exactly like one of the popular pralines, shaped like a cup of hot chocolate, with creamy whipped cream and appetizing sprinkles on top. The keychain was to look like its perfect miniature.
Every detail was important:
- the right shape and proportions,
- realistic “whipped cream” with sprinkles,
- refined colors reminiscent of real chocolate,
- perfect printing of the logo on the bottom of the key ring.
What was the process like?
The entire project, from concept to prototype, was created in our DECARD studio. We created 3D visualizations, tested different color versions of the resin, and worked out technical details, such as joining layers, the shape of the foam and how to apply the logo.
Although we originally envisioned a one-piece print, we decided on a more ambitious option - a keychain consisting of two elements, hand-joined. This solution allowed us to achieve even greater realism and accuracy - it was our first such implementation!
The end result? Deliciously successful!
The end result was stunning in its realism - so much so that many people mistook the keychain for a real dessert. This is a perfect example of a gadget that not only promotes a brand, but also evokes emotions and is memorable. The client was delighted with the result - both visually and in terms of quality.
